Garden Design – The Process
Garden Design – The Process
Garden landscape projects are typically spilt into 3 parts:
Part 1 : The Design Process
This initial part is the time for you, the client, to explain your likes and dislikes, do your research, gather reference material and samples if required and discuss your aims for the project with us. Once the design has been approved GDC will supply you with detailed drawings enabling you to discuss the work involved and to gain detailed quotes for the work involved from your chosen landscape contractor(s).
Part 2 : The Construction Process
Working from your approved plans from part 1 above we strongly recommend that should get at least two quotes for the construction of the garden. Being in receipt your plans will enable you to discuss the project in detail, and ensures that both you and your landscape contractor are clear of the work to be undertaken.
Part 3 : The Planting Process
Again working from your approved plans you are free to work with the specialist horticulturalist of your choice. With clearly defined planting areas and exact dimensions a horticulturist will be able to discuss a range of planting schemes and ideas. Alternatively you can take your drawings along to your local garden centre, most of which employ a plantsman who will undoubtably be keen to offer advice.
